What is the Vampire Facelift?
The Vampire Facelift is a minimally invasive procedure done primarly to the face, and is an excellent alternative to cosmetic surgery to regenerate a youthful glow. The procedure uses platelet-rich plasma from the patient’s own blood to reactivate stem cells, resulting in rejuvenating facial skin quality and skin tone.
Vampire Facelift PROCEDURE
The Vampire Facelift procedure begins with an extensive consultation to discuss the patient’s desired look. The first step of treatment is applying numbing cream to the face, followed by a blood draw–the patient’s own blood is taken from their arm and processed in our lab. In our lab it is placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the red blood cells. The treatment is called “vampire” because of its use of the patient’s own blood, during the centrifuge process, because the platelet-rich plasma is separated from the red blood cells its appearance is yellow, which is why it’s sometimes referred to as “liquid gold.” When the platelet-rich plasma is ready and the numbing cream has taken effect, Dr. Shannon will begin with injections in the treatment areas discussed during the consultation.
